The task of the remediation of an earlier
uncovered soil and groundwater contamination in the area of a former Soviet
barrack in Hajmáskér was given to our company by the National Privatization and
Trustee Inc. With the utilization of pumping units capable of phase separating
and skimming, and air-stripping equipment about 160 000 m3
groundwater was yielded and treated, and about 450 liters of floating
hydrocarbon was skimmed. After the proper treatment the oil was reused or
neutralized. Ultimately the follow up monitoring proved that the complete
elimination of the hydrocarbon contamination in the area was successful.
