Our company, together with REM-FWS Ltd., was
assigned by ÉMÁSZ Inc. (Power Company of North-Hungary) to remediate the
revealed soil- and groundwater contamination at the site of their three
transmitter stations in Borsodnádasd, Lőrinci and Salgótarján. In all three
cases the cause of the contamination was the oil-leakage of the high
performance transmitters during unexpected events.
To summarize the works at the three stations:
during our operation about 32 000 m3 groundwater was treated
with air-stripping technology equipped with activated carbon filter, and with an
enzymatic technology (injecting an amount of 27 425 m3 solution
in to the geological medium with air-sparging wells and drain-ditches) about
5000 m3 soil was treated in an area of 1500 m2.
