The Budapest Erőmű Inc. assigned our company to
make an accurate environmental survey in the area of a power plant in
Angyalföld contaminated by hydrocarbons, to plan the remediation and to carry
out the technical intervention.
The survey showed that the affected soil volume
was about 120-130 m3, while the maximum value of the contamination
was about 8800 mg/kg. In case of groundwater, the contamination was between 50
and 100 µg/l.
As a result of the remediation 47 579 m3
groundwater was yielded from the alluvial formations and treated with
air-stripping equipment, while the soil was treated by injecting 26 598 m3
enzymatic solution in to the geological medium.
